Camp iCare @ Notasulga had a great first day. Sharon Wilbanks, cofounder of Camp iCare, welcomed the participants and shared the definition of philanthropy... taking action for the common good. Lauren Reynolds provided a brief introduction of the 4 T's of Philanthropy. The 4 T's are: Time, Talent, Treasure, and Trust, and all of these play a critical role in philanthropy. Throughout the week, participants learned how to maximize their time, talent, treasure, and trust to make a philanthropic impact and to create a lasting legacy.
"I learned about forlantherpy. I also learned to share, save, and spend"-Neveah
Ms. Sid James, Co-Founder of Camp iCare and Executive Director of the Cary Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies, introduced the core projects of Camp iCare: Donor Vision Board, Because We Care Videos and ePortfolios.
"My favorite part about Camp iCare is learning to share. We also learned about needs"-Zaria
The day continued as the participants went to their assigned groups and started to work on their core projects and other activities.
No camp would be complete without yummy snacks and recess!
